Hyderabad Liberation day named as Telangana National Integration Day by Secular TRS Govt.

Hyderabad Liberation day or Telangana Liberation day (Telangana Vimochana Dinothsavam ) was renamed as Telangana National integration day. The Special day of September 17 was ignored by all the governments in the last 74 years and finally due to the pressure of BJP party , the state government had to decide celebrating the Sep 17 in some way or other. The Telangana liberation day was nothing but the day when state of Hyderabad got the freedom from the Nizam dynasty and became the integral part of the nation ” India “. Let us find out some interesting facts about the Hyderabad Liberation day :

Did Hyderabad / Telangana get Independence in 1947 ?

No ! Hyderabad state (Region including today’s Telangana and some easters parts of Karnataka like Bidar and Maharastra were part of the then Hyderabad Nizam ) got the Independence in the year 1948 after Sardar Vallabbhai Patel initiated a Police action on the Nizam to liberate it from the clutches of the Nizam.

Operation Polo

The Police and military joint operation by the central government under the Leadership of Sardar Vallabhai Patel ( Prime Minister Nehru was least interested or against liberating Muslim rulers states ) was named as ” Operation Polo ” in which the Indian troop attacked Hyderabad from neighbouring states.

The Huge Indian Army attacked from all the sites . Crucial forces entered Hyderabad through karnataka Borders and Andhra borders and defeated the cruel islamic forces called ” Razakars “.

Who were Razakars ?

Razakars were officially appointed forces parallel to Police by Nizam to collect revenues and implement law and order as per Nizam dynasty. However, the Razakars under the leadership of ” Qasim Rizvi ” grown out of the control of Nizam and became huge nightmare to the Telangana public.

Looting public money to Molesting women , the atrocities of Razakars were so high that women were scared to go even to the agricultural fields.

This oppression gave rise to the communist party in the villages of Telangana as lately as 1940s.

Sardar Vallabhai Patel as part of unification of Indian Princely states had eyed on Hyderabad but unlike other states, Hyderabad was too far from Delhi and Nehru was not much interested in absorbing Islamic king state into the Country.

Mr. Patel however decided to go ahead with the army and finished the project successfully.

On Sep 17 1948 , the operation polo was successful and Nizam accepted his defeat and handed over the state to India.

Therefore, Telangana didn’t get the Independence on August 15 1947 unlike other parts of India as it was still under the clutches of Nizam and got freedom only after a year.

However, since the Telangana -Hyderabad region was made part of Andhra Pradesh, the Andhra politicians have not shown much interest in identifying Sep 17 as Telangana liberation day.

Only some organisations in Hyderabad unoficially celebrated it since then but rest of the Telangana remained unknown about it for generations.

During the Telangana movement, K. Chandra Sekhar Rao demanded the Andhra government to celebrate the Telangana liberation day ( Telangana vimochana dinothsavam ) and questioned why Andhra government doesn’t celebrate it?. He announced during the movement that once the Telangana state is formed , TRS party would celebrate the Telangana liberation day officially.

However, after the state is formed in 2014 the TRS party too ignored it’s own statement and never celebrated Sep 17 despite of huge requests from public.

it is alleged that KCR and TRS party doesnt want to celebrate Sep 17 as it might irk the Muslims of the state and it’s friendly party MIM. One needs to know the fact the MIM party of Owaisi is nothing but the political continuation of Razakars.

In order to ensure the Minorty vote bank retains, TRS party showed no interest in celebrating the Telangana liberation day for 8 years.

Pressure of BJP troubled TRS to officially recognize it after 75 years

But the rising opposition BJP had taken this as an opportunity and questioned TRS during the GHMC elections as why TRS party is against Sep 17 day. This had raked huge interest among the Telangana public and the result was that BJP won over 44 Municipal seats in Hyderabad giving shock waves to the ruling TRS.

Amit Shah had announced officially that if came to power BJP would celebrate Sep 17 as Telangana liberation day.

This had irked TRS party and finally decided to celebrate the Sep 17 but give a secular touch to it and renamed it as ” Telangana national integration day “.

The official cabinet meet of Telangana government took place on Sep 03 2022 and declared to celebrate the Sep 17 but not with the name of Telangana liberation but ” National integration day”.

Naming it as ” National integration day ” is nothing but trying to give a secular touch to avoid hurting Minority communities.

Owaisi senior , too expressed his acceptance over calling Sep 17 as National integration day rather than Liberation.
