Lost as Municipal Chairman to lingam Goud
As a congress candidate Kuna Srisailam Goud contested as Municipal Chairperson of Quthbullapur constituency in 2002 . However the TDP wave had given him bitter experience and he lost to TDP candidate B. Lingam Goud with around 20K votes.
Congress Denied MLA ticket in 2004
Kuna Srisailam goud had a long Political rivarly with the relatives Kuna Vivekanand Goud Family since 90s. Kuna Srisailam Goud was denied ticket of Quthbullapur Constituency in 2004.
However, he stayed in close loop of Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy who wanted to groom his own candidate in the north Constituency of Hyderabad. In 2008 , again he was denied ticket by the then PCC president D.Srinivas.
Srisailam Goud was reported to have encouraged by the chiefminister to contest independently and join congress. Mr. Goud did the same and contested as Congress Rebel candidate and won as Independent candidate from Quthbullapur constituency with around 25k votes against Congress and TDP candidates.
He continued as a Congress party member and contested the 2014 and 2018 General elections but lost to the K.Vivekanand.

The rise of BJP in Telangana after 2019 parliament elections had influenced many politicians to join the saffron party and Kuna Srisailam goud was no exemption.
Bandi sanjay had encouraged him to join the party before GHMC elections and this helped the party to garner around 30% of votes in the constituency. Missed couple of corporater seats with little margin but won one from Suraram region.
Kuna Srisailam Goud is offered BJP ticket in the first list announced by the party in october 2023 as MLA candidate from Quthbullapur constituency.
