Bhajanlal Sharma is selected as Rajasthan New Chiefminister by BJP Highcommand. Two deputy CMs also announced.
Rajasthan gets a fresh face as chiefminister of the state as BJP high command decided Mr.Bhajan Lal Sharma as the new chief minister of the state after the BJP won a mammoth victory in Assembly elections. Yogi Balaknath , Diya kumari were two other new upcoming politicians who were shortlisted for the post , how ever the party high command in the Delhi decided to go with a complete new face Bhajan Lal Sharma. Rajasthan new Chief minister Bhajan lal Sharma is from Brahmin community and this is biggest surprise.
Rajasthan is a state where Rajputs and Jats fight neck to neck in politics and both congress and BJP aim to woo the voters from these communities. But much to the surprise of national politics the Saffron party didnt prefer to do caste politics.
Brahmin Chiefminister for Rajasthan – A surprise and uncalculated risk by BJP ?
Unlike two others states where BJP won assembly elections along with Rajasthan , the party decided not to play the caste cards.
A Tribal leader ” Vishnudeo sai ” was confirmed for the chief minister post in Chattisgarh who is scheduled to take oath tomorrow and in Madhyapradesh the party decided to pick a YADAV man as CM this time keeping the larger Yadav vote bank in Hindi belt area for the upcoming Parliament elections.
However, in Rajasthan when Rajputs , Jats and Gujjars are expected to get the CM post the Saffron party had surprisingly chose a first time MLA Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma as the CM candidate.
This selection was purely to pass on the message that BJP though uses caste card some times , the Ground level Karyakartas too get opportunity to sit on the big posts irrespective of caste support.
Brahmin Community is struggling with political existence in many states. The recent telangana elections had resulted in only one Brahmin MLA winning elections. This is the case in many states of the country except the Brahmin dominated states like Uttarpradesh where few of them are still seen.
Rajasthan though the Brahmin population is only around 7% the saffron party had opted to pick a Brahmin politician only because the candidate has rich RSS back ground.
