Junagadh Violence : 500 Mob Pelted stones after Dargah receives notice on Illegal Encroachment.

Junagadh city has witnessed a scary and inhuman violent activity over the night as the Dargah in the town received a legal notice from the municipality about the illegal encroachment of the government land. Around 500+ men gathered near Dargah at 10:00 PM creating scary atmoshphere on the roads. Police Gathered immediately at the spot but the force was not enough, by the time the Department could gather enough support, the Mob pelted stones on police leaving as many as 24 injured and one dead.

Gaben Shah Pir Dargah had earlier received notice on illegal encroachment and asked to reply about it by the local Municipality. For which, the Community had decided to act violently rather than giving reply to the notice.

The DSP Hitesh Dandaliya said ” We gathered near Majevdi Gate area upon being informed about huge crowd gathering near dargah and from 10.00 PM we started requesting to disperse but at 10:15 the Mob started sloganeering and pelted stones on us damaging all our vehicles and injuring police men including me “.

Junagadh Violence is a shame to the secular and democractic system of India’s existence. The Dargahs have been erected across the country in govt lands and most of the government bodies of different places do not dare to interfer in this matter and never question the religious authorities out of fear.

very rarely some honest officers dare to take decision about taking back the illegally encroached land but soon they face this sort of protest and it comes with cost of peace of the area.
