Karanataka State elections are scheduled to be on May 10 whereas the results would be announced on May 13. There are total 224 Assembly seats where BJP, Congress, JDS are the major promising parties in the southern state. First time. the Election commission has announced vote from Home feature in karnataka for the physically challenged voters. Karnataka elections are being observed by entire country as these results would decide the mood of the nation and might influence the upcoming Parliament elections.

Congress Party looks confident in upcoming Karnataka assembly elections.

It has won around 82 seats in the last elections , however it lost most of the sitting seats to the Saffron Party. There is a huge swing of voters from Congress to BJP from BC and OC communities of the state in the previous elections and this had badly effected the national party. The Anti BJP vote bank was split between JDS and BJP and this has helped the saffron party to win with marginal difference in most of the new constituencies.

Just a month a head of Karanataka elections, the BJP party has taken a big political decision. It scrapped the 4% reservation for muslims in the state. Now the Muslims have started expressing their anger on saffron party but the party said the Indian constitution doesn’t give reservations based on religion. The same reservation difference was shared to Lingayats and Okkaligas from 5% to 7% and 4% to 6% respectively.

This move is a double benefit move for BJP as it directly targetted the Congress and Muslims by scrapping off the religious reservations and at the same time it started appealing the Okkaliga community which is a strong vote bank of JDS.
