Jagdeep Dhankar is India’s new Vice President

Jadeep Dhankar has won the Vice president elections in India by a huge margin. He won by 346 votes against the Congress party backed ” Margareta Alva” who could only bag a mere 182 votes. Jagdeep Dhankar has was chosen by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ruling party ” BJP ” to be it’s Vice President candidate. After the victory of Draupadi Murmu as the President of India, it was very much obvious that vice president too would be won by the ruling government. However, Jagdeep Dhankar has won the Vice president elections with huge margin and this is a huge set back for the opposition parties like Congress.

How Jagdeep Dhankar victory as Vice president would help BJP in upcoming elections :

The first and foremost aspect for Jagdeep Dhankar ji to be picked by Modi- Shah duo as Vice President candidate for the NDA is that he has done his Constitutional job very well as the West Bengal Governor in the recent times. He was highly impressive as the Governor in questioning and highlighting the Law & order -communal issues in the TMC ruling state.
Mr. Dhankar is from Rajasthan and he hails from ” Jat ” community which is OBC and most powerful and demographically rich in north India.
Jats Constitute around 25% of Haryana and Punjab population. There are significantly adequate in other Hindi belt regions like Bihar, UP and Delhi. They can easily shift the chances of any political party in elections.
BJP also aims at JATs vote bank through this knock. JATs swing over congress and also some of the JATs played big role in the recent Farmers agitation in Punjab – Haryana region. Therefore, this can appeal the powerful JAT section.
Jagdeep is a Law Graduate and worked at Rajasthan highcourt and Indian Supreme court. He has served as Parliamentary affairs minister earlier during Congress regime. He also worked as Bengal Governor and played crucial role in west Bengal politics. He is known to use constitutional knowledge to irk TMC chief Mamata banerjee during his Governor tenure.
